BURBANK: ABC has revealed that the eighth season of Marc Cherry's Desperate Housewives will be its last, with the series ending in May 2012.

ABC has said that the eighth and final season will be presented in a way that is accessible even to viewers who may not have followed the previous seasons closely. The season will feature the aftermath from Carlos's murder of Gaby's evil stepfather, and the cover up by Susan, Gaby, Bree and Lynette.

Nominations for the 2011 American Latino Media Awards(ALMA Awards) include, Ricardo Chavira for Favorite TV Actor Lead Role. The ALMA Awards were created to combat the negative stereotype of Latinos in media by the National Council of La Raza.

The awards will be hosted by Ricardo's very own "TV wife", Eva Longoria and comedian/actor George Lopez.
